The history of homeopathy
We have to thank the physician, pharmacist and chemist Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (1755-
In 1790 he undertook a unique experiment on himself with powdered Peruvian bark, which was then successfully used against intermittent fever (= malaria). After taking cinchona malaria-
The law of similars
This marked the discovery of homeopathy and the similarity principle.
A substance that a healthy person had taken had the power to cause symptoms of disease, thus had the same drug been administered to an ill person suffering from similar symptoms, it could also restore health again.
Testing of medicinal products
Up to the present day there are many substances from the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms which undergo very elaborate testing procedures on healthy people.
Always only one substance is tested. The medicinal product is already potentiated in a homeopathic manner.
Each individual symptom occurring "in the test person" while taking the foreign substance is carefully recorded and evaluated. The symptom picture that arises is called the medication picture.
This type of medicinal testing renders animal testing obsolete.
Course of treatment
When treating a patient, Samuel Hahnemann took the time to write down every symptom described. He compared the totality of symptoms of the individual patient with the existing medicinal pictures and gave then the most similar homeopathic remedies.
First, he gave the medicine in a pure, undiluted form but he came to realize that the symptoms of patients for a period of time greatly deteriorated but after that they improved.
Potentiation
Samuel Hahnemann began to reduce the dosages of the medication and developed the method of successive dilution. In each dilution process he increased the medication substantially. He called this process "potentiation".
He noticed in the continued treatment of his patients that the effect of the remedy became softer and the effect duration was prolonged.
Healing crisis
Homeopathic remedies stimulate the "life force". The existing symptoms can be briefly reinforced by the homeopathic remedy, which is the so-
The organism deals with the disease and is stimulated to heal itself.
Homeopathy is gentle and permanently restores health in acute and in chronic disease situations.
In classical homeopathy, the holistic approach of the individual person with their individual symptoms and habits is placed in the foreground.
Homeopathy works for all human beings and in all walks of life:
