The essential oils for aromatherapy are obtained of almost all parts of the plant.
On the one hand, they act through the skin or mucous membrane, on the other hand, through the olfactory system and the limbic system in the brain.
There, they trigger pleasant moods and emotions. The diverse characteristics of essential oils can be used to advantage in fragrance lamps, massage oils, baths, compresses, creams and shampoos.
Whether applied as an antiseptic, an analgesic, for cough-
When used in baths, mix essential oils preferably with a little cream or milk to make them spread out more in the water and not only swim on the surface.
In fragrance lamps use only a few drops, as the scent may quickly become too intense. Essential oils can also be ingested.
But for the latter professional advice should be sought, as many oils are caustic, if taken in too concentrated a quantity. In many scents, the effect has already been demonstrated in studies. However, one should not use too much or too many different oils, because otherwise they may cause the opposite effect.
They should never be used undiluted, even if such recipes still exist.
