Cupping
Cupping is one of the classic discharge procedures (decontamination/detoxification through excretion of substances that damage the health of the organism) and was used both in ancient Greece and Egypt as well as in India and China. In classical Greece, cupping was so appreciated that the cupping bell was the emblem of the doctor.
Since the time when precise knowledge was obtained about the reflex zones, that is, the relationship of certain skin areas with internal organs, cupping acquired a scientific foundation and became a truly healing art. However, this requires a precise knowledge of the reflex zones on the back of the patient (see map on the right). In this way even painful tissue changes are exposed which identify diseases of the organs through the mandatory manual examination of the spine; the latter are then assigned to the respective zones. Hard reflex points must be relieved by means of blood cupping while empty points are filled using dry cupping.
In cupping therapy the skin and underlying tissues are pulled and stretched. To do so, specially manufactured cup heads are used in practice. These have the shape of a bell. In this glass (or bamboo), a vacuum is created, so that the cupping glass can attach itself to the skin. In this way the microcirculation of blood and lymph fluid is stimulated in the underlying tissue. Through evacuation of the congested lymph fluid, tension (tonus) is reduced in the underlying muscles, allowing them to relax.
In the suctioned areas of skin, blood flows out of the surrounding tissues. After removing the cupping head a kind of bruise remains. This process is called dry cupping.
In blood cupping, before attaching the cupping glass by means of suction, a few incisions are made in the area to be cupped.
The suctioned blood flows into the cupping glass from the skin and soon fills it. When the excess pressure in the tissue has been compensated, bleeding stops.
Dry cupping adds (blood, heat, strength); blood cupping takes away (surpluses, poisons)
Targeted cupping or cupping massage work immediately and are therefore very effective.
